Dr. Colin Bowdidge

VP EXPLORATION, DIRECTOR

Dr. Bowdidge has initiated, planned, managed and executed uranium exploration programs:

  • Grenville province of Ontario and Quebec (1968, 1975-1978), includes the discovery of the Lac Kachiwiss deposit in Quebec, a large-tonnage, low-grade deposit drilled in the 1970s by Getty Mines Ltd.;
  • In the Athabasca basin, Saskatchewan (1978-1983, 2005-2008) and the Thelon basin, NWT (1984);
  • In the Danville basin, Virginia (1984), providing geological consulting for advanced drilling on the Coles Hill multi-million ton uranium deposit;
  • In the Sibley basin, Ontario (2004-2008), initiating and executing a basin-wide exploration program for unconformity-type uranium mineralization (most significant drill hole to date 2.99 % U3O8 over 1.5 metres).
In addition to uranium, he has explored for gold, silver, base metals, iron ore and industrial minerals, including the single-handed discovery of the Olden wollastonite deposit in Ontario.

Dr. Bowdidge has a degree in geology and mineralogy from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Edinburgh. He has 35 years of practical experience in all phases of mineral exploration and mine development. Most of his work has been in Canada but he has also handled projects in Europe, Latin America and the United States.
